"Sending our little boy to preschool was a really big thing for us. He has additional physical and medical needs, so finding somewhere that was not only willing, but genuinely confident and capable of meeting those needs was incredibly important to us. That kind of setting can feel very hard to find, and from the very beginning we knew we had found the right place at Wyke.
What meant the most to us was that they never made him feel different. They took the time to understand his medical needs, worked closely with us, listened to what we needed as a family and made sure he could still be included in preschool life alongside his friends. His needs were always taken seriously, but they were never allowed to become the thing that defined him.
They saw him for exactly who he is — funny, determined, cheeky and completely himself. We never felt like we were asking too much, and we always knew he was safe, cared for and genuinely loved while he was there.
He absolutely adored going to preschool, and watching his confidence and independence grow was such a lovely thing to see. He made friendships, learned so much and came home full of stories about his day.
There are certain people who become such an important part of your child’s early years, and we will always be grateful for the care, patience and love he was shown during his time there. The staff went above and beyond to make sure he could access preschool in the same way as his peers, and that gave us so much reassurance as parents.
Leaving was genuinely emotional for us because it really did feel like the end of a little chapter of his life. In addition to our inclusive approach, we offer a range of supplementary services tailored to children with additional needs. These services include but are not limited to Early Interaction Groups, and Personalised Education Plans, designed to provide a holistic and individualised learning experience.
